I’m taking a break.
No, I don’t mean a 15-minute coffee break.
I mean a few-months-to-focus break.
Today I deactivated my Facebook. You would think the world had ended by the volume of calls I received after posting my last status. I found it amusing and slightly concerning, but as my co-worker put it, “It’s like [I] deleted myself from the world.”
Well, I wouldn’t say “deleted from the world”, but I’ll probably be sitting in the trash bin for awhile.
All of my other profiles have been either deactivated or hidden as well.
I said I was going to try not to hermit while in the midst of the grad-school-application process, but that hasn’t worked out so well. I already suspect that when I’m back in school I will be super-hermitting, what with working full time added to the mix. So, I may as well start that ball rolling now, right? (That’s not actually my motivation for the break, but it’s a nice side effect).
So for now, my plan (if I can pull it off successfully) is to retract from all hyper social settings. I’ll still do hang outs at K2’s or the occasional night out with co-workers, but I think most public kink (or other) things are going to have to go on the backburner.
This quite naturally is no fun, but it’s a necessity nonetheless. Especially during this time of the year when I’m already distracted with homesickness because of the holidays.
With all this being said, I probably won’t be posting super awesome updates or scenes for a bit.
I’m thinking February sounds like a good month to re-join society.
Wish me luck!
